Youth unemployment

Youth unemployment image © iStockphoto.comThe ESF-Works Youth Unemployment theme focuses on young people, especially those who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).

If your project addresses issues that work with youth unemployment, especially NEETs, then one of our regional coordinators would like to come and visit you. ESF-Works will publish an article that focuses on the methodologies you are using to train, educate and upskill people into employment.

Featured project

Youth Enhanced Support (YES)

YES was one of the first projects in the South West to target underachieving 14 to 16 year olds who are likely to become NEET either through non-attendance, exclusion or criminality, or because they fall in vulnerable groups such as young carers, care leavers, teenage parents, young offenders and BME (Black Minority Ethnic) communities.

ReEngage

ReEngage offers advice and training for 16- to 19-year-olds in Gloucestershire who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).

Aim Higher, Guilsborough School

Guilsborough School is a secondary school and specialist technology college which offers a strong vocational curriculum alongside traditional academic subjects. The ESF-funded programme, Aim Higher, has enabled them to further extend this focus through a programme of support to students identified as being in danger of becoming NEET.
